On Friday December 2nd, the Atlanta RAPS Chapter hosted their annual FDA breakfast at the law firm of Arnall Golden Gregory. Four of the FDA Atlanta district officials were present to discuss current topics with industry. The FDA speakers included:
· Arnold Best, compliance officer, FDA Atlanta District Office
· Dawn Hines, director, Investigations Branch, FDA Atlanta District Office
· Derek Price, compliance officer, FDA Atlanta District Office
· Ingrid Zambrana, district deputy director, FDA Atlanta District Office
Ingrid Zambrana, district deputy director, opened the discussion and introduced the FDA team. Dawn Hines, director, discussed customs and the latest import/export initiatives. Arnold Best, compliance officer, gave a formal presentation about recall information and procedures for food, pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Mr. Best has responsible for all recalls in the Atlanta FDA district which includes Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. RAPS Atlanta and the FDA speakers wanted a very collaborative environment so the majority of the time was left for Q&A with the audience. RAPS also collected questions in advance of the meeting.
There were over 80 attendees at the event ranging from interns in regulatory or quality at medical device companies to vice presidents and C-suite executives at pharmaceutical and biologic companies. This breakfast is a RAPS Atlanta Chapter tradition and has been taking place for over ten years. Special thank you to Arnall Golden and Gregory for hosting.
