RAPS DC/Baltimore Chapter: Making Your Manager Listen: What to Say and How to Say it

When:  Nov 29, 2017 from 17:30 to 20:00 (ET)
Associated with  DC/Baltimore Chapter

Do you know the image you project when you talk to your manager? Does he/she view you as a competent employee who can explain a problem and the required action succinctly? Alternatively, does he/she see you as someone who takes too long to get to the point?

During this high-energy, interactive workshop, you will receive feedback about how others perceive you, which can influence your image. You will also learn how to prepare and describe an issue in 30 seconds using the “what,” “so what” and “now what” pattern.

After completing the session, you will be able to:

  • Recognize when it is and is not appropriate to request a meeting
  • Employ a template to structure a succinct message
  • Apply techniques to keep your manager engaged
  • Use traits that demonstrate credibility
  • Recognize the importance of body language
  • Employ strategies when responding to difficult questions

Join colleagues from your local regulatory community for the last chapter event of 2017. This event is sponsored by the RAPS DC Baltimore Chapter and is intended to facilitate networking and knowledge sharing among area regulatory personnel.
