  • 1.  CE Mark with NB Number

    Does anyone have information regarding requirements for the placement of the Notified Body number with the CE mark? I am trying to find out if there is a size/proportion requirement like there is for the CE and if it must follow the mark or can go below it.

    Hi Lena,

    The NB number can either go below or to the right side of the CE Mark. No dimensions have been specified for the NB number, it should be legible. If there is space on your labels, you can use the same size as the CE Mark (min of 5 mm) or make it half that size. Your firm can mock up some labels and get approval from your NB.

    Thank you! I found the same:

    So for anyone who is interested, I was told by a notified body that while the CE mark itself is controlled, the NB number is not.  The only requirement is that the NB # be adjacent (top, bottom, left, right) to the CE.  There are no requirements for size. font, or color.

    I find this very strange, as the NB # is unique to the NB so why wouldn't they want it to have a consistent, uniform appearance?  Then they could provide it to their customers when it is applicable to them.
