    Hello,

I am a Graduate student from Johns Hopkins University with a Masters in Biotechnology, specialising in Regulatory affairs. I am graduating this May and I am looking for a Full time job in RA field. I do not have any prior working experience in RA except for an internship at a Health care company in LA where I worked on HIPAA compliance. I would appreciate any leads, contacts or career advice that can be beneficial to me.

    Thank you,

    Regards,

    Monisha

    Monisha,

I would suggest you post your interest in seeking a position in RA in various forums including LinkedIn.

Please have your cover letter showing how passionate you are in RA and resume ready - format them to look nice and professional!

You may want to highlight the courses that you have taken from JH including your prior experience in HIPPA compliance.

    Thank you.

    s/ David

As always, David's suggestions are right on the money. :-)

Use LinkedIn to connect with RA associates from the targeted companies.

Learn about the corporate culture from each and preferably have a resume that reflects how you fit into each company culture.

I would suggest to have one cover letter and one resume dedicated to each company. It takes a bit of time to do that, but that might be the difference that gets you an interview.

Also, remember that electronic resumes are screened by software bots.

Check each company website and learn the key words that you need to have in your resume to pass the "electronic sentries" and land on the HR desk. Learn about the ideal resume electronic format that is the best to beat the "bots".

Here is a link to teach you that: http://beatresumesystems.com/

Maybe also get in touch with Pamela, if you want to take your search one step further.

    Good luck!
