  • 1.  Notices in FR

    Posted 03-Nov-2011 20:57
    Hello Everyone,
I am having a hard time in trying to find the types of notices found in the Federal Register. I know notices are published for many topics in the FR. Do the regulations mention anywhere the types on notices available? I appreciate anyone answering to this post.

    Thanks,

As stated on the main page of the Federal Register it "is the official daily publication for rules, proposed rules, and notices of Federal agencies and organizations, as well as executive orders and other presidential documents."

I suggest signing up for email updates from the FDA.

They send out all sorts of email updates, including anything that is published as a notice to the Federal Register, plus new guidances etc.

Go to the FDA homepage - http://www.fda.gov

In the upper right, under Get Updates, click "Email Updates".  From there, you can pick the updates that you are interested in.

What Kristen suggests is one of the best ways to get information related to the area you are interested in for the publications in the Federal Register.  Unfortunately reading through and understanding what is applicable to your specific industry or even devices require a little sleuthing.  It does take time to read through even those F.R.s that may be published for your device or products.  Another avenue you could take is to sign up for one of the external regulatory intelligence groups like the Grey Sheet or Pink Sheet.  These take the relevant F.R. and publish them in easy to understand summaries.
