I agree with all responses. I think another challenge is keeping up with ever-changing priorities and strict regulatory timelines. Not to mention the difficulty growing a team during pandemic, finding talent has been difficult.

What's the biggest challenge you face at work?

We asked regulatory professionals about their professional challenges in our 2021 Report on The Global Regulatory Affairs Professionals Workforce. Location made a big difference in the answers we received:

• In Asia, 39 percent of respondents cited their top professional challenge as "understanding how to advance their careers."
• In Europe, 50 percent of respondents listed "keeping up to date with regulatory changes" as their top workplace challenge.
• Same for North America, where 45 percent of respondents said "keeping up to date with regulatory changes" was their No. 1 challenge.

Some other responses included:

• Work-life balance challenges
• Managing professional skills development
• Understanding how to advance to a more senior role
