  • 1.  GDPR personal data

Good morning, I am working on the last pieces of our GDPR implementation and wanted to get the groups thoughts on the following personal data items:

Would you consider a work email personal data? I don't think so but wanted to get others opinion.

Also when you are collecting HR data related to benefits you have the 3 categories of people that are included other than the direct employee; beneficiaries, dependent and emergency contacts. In these cases you are gathering personal information from you new employee about their family or friends. Other than getting the employees permission to use and store this data do you see any need to get those people's consent to use their personal data (the beneficiaries, dependent and emergency contact)?

I look forward to hearing back from the group.
    Carolyn

    Hello Carolyn,

Work email will not be considered as a personal data but you would need to get a consent from the employees to store and use their personal data for HR processing. It can be as part of their induction program when they join your company where they could give their consent.

    Thanks,
    Loga
