In 2015 the RAPS board of directors created and charged the RAPS awards committee to identify annually recipients of RAPS awards to be recognized and presented at the Convergence conference.
The current RAPS awards are
- Founder's
- Community Service
- Rising Star*
- Article of the Year*
- Best Book of the Year*
- Patient-Centered Health
*New awards for 2022.
The awards criteria guidance, developed by the committee and approved by the RAPS board, is provided in the spreadsheet that is attached to this post.
The awards committee is already working on the 2022 awards process. Over the previous 7 years the committee has established a pipeline of possible candidates for each award and annually works to build the pipeline and to consider new candidates to include in the review process. The committee is requesting input from RAPS volunteers/members on possible candidates to include in the evaluation process. The committee is particularly requesting input on candidates for the new Rising Star award, but suggestions for all awards are always welcome. There are a limited number of awards to grant each year, but qualified candidates that are unsuccessful this year will be included in the pipeline for possible future consideration.

When providing input pleases include candidates details (name), which award is being considered and a summary of how the relevant award criteria is addressed (note the criteria is guidance for the committee and not a checklist IE not all criteria must be met).
