I have problems with being deprived of slides for an event I paid for because I refuse to download an app onto my phone. And more problems with an app developed by who knows who and programmed to collect who knows what kind of data once it has been downloaded.
I can't figure out which is worse, being forced to download a business-related app to your personal phone, or to a phone provided by your company, for those who enjoy that perk. Either way, seems very cyber-risky for companies with lots of proprietary and confidential information to protect.

Many of us (myself included) that attend RAPS are representing companies who want ALL THE SLIDES, not just the ones for these sessions we attended, because there may be good information in those slides. And Ginger is right in that this is a problem every year. It would be very beneficial if one member of the RAPS staff could do the individual downloads maybe a week after the Conference, then provide a Dropbox link or something like it so we could get all get the slides in one fell swoop. This would be a big time saver for me!

Personally I don't find it cumbersome or a waste of time to select the presentations I want and download them. I would do the same off a USB, which I would then need to do something with. Despite this, I think it's great to present new ideas for added value and efficiencies! It just might be more effective if communicated in a positive way.

Hi Lena,
I guess it is your perspective that is fun to download presentations one by one and be on your devices all the time. Not mine!
How does it benefit each individual to do that. The inefficiency and time waste is astounding, when if RAPS held people to deliver their presentations a week or two in advance of the conference, they could easily include a USB. If a presenter had to update, then RAPS could post those. For the price of the conference, why not provide that benefit to attendees? Just my humble opinion.
The benefit is actually providing a service and retaining members. I guess you don't think the expense to RAPS is worth it, from your post... Goodwill goes a long way.

Many presenters (me included) either don't provide the slides in time to have them on jump drives or update the slides with additional information/redactions after the presentation. It's also likely an extra expense that doesn't have much benefit. Maybe they would be willing/able to do this if we bring our own jump drives. But I really like the app and being able to access the information directly from my phone or ipad!

Hello Rene'
It would be convenient, wouldn't it, if RAPS provided attendees with slides on a USB when they check in? Or mail them to you after?
Most other seminar providers do this. Not that hard to do, RAPS!
Who has time to download slide decks one by one! What a waste of time!

Hi RAPS,
Is my only recourse for getting eCopies of all the Convergence slides to go to the App on my phone, click on each session, and email the slides to myself one-by one? Is there a better, more efficient way?
Thanks!
