Since the ethanol supply is very tight, the only available grade is industrial grade, are we allowed to purify the industrial grade and convert it into USP grade?
FDA published Temporary Policy for Manufacture of Alcohol for Incorporation Into Alcohol Based Hand Sanitizer Products During the Public Health Emergency (COVID-19) in late March, but did not specify if firms are allowed to convert other grades ETOH into USP grade.
Despite the FDA policy during the public health emergency, under normal circumstances, are manufacturers allowed to convert other grades Ethanol into USP grade?
