Do you think the RAC practice tests are good indicators of the actual test?

    Hi Lisa,

I used the practice exam to prepare for the US RAC.  I was a bit surprised in how different the format of the actual test was as compared with the practice exam (sometimes with tests, just being familiar with format is half the battle!), so in that respect it is very different (at least in my opinion).  The practice exams do give you information on areas that you need to improve on and notes on answers, etc., so from that perspective, I found the practice exams to be a useful study tool.

Thanks Liz...in what way is the format different?  I've been doing well on the practice tests but now you have me worried! :)

    Hi Lisa,

Don't be afraid!  I just remember that the way the screen looked was different than the practice tests, so I was a little bit surprised.  I don't remember exactly, but my impression was that the real test format looked older (older software?) than the practice exams.  I don't remember exactly, but I think the questions just appeared in the top section of the screen with much more empty space than in the practice exams - and maybe a progress bar?
I still think that using the tests as reference material to help you identify areas that you need to focus your prep on is valuable - you will do just fine!  And now you'll be mentally prepared for it not to look exactly like what you're used to, so no surprises!

    Best of luck!
    Liz
