Hello,
It is not really referring to a specific actual testing location; you are correct in that it is provided an indicator of the test environment. When doing verification testing it needs to be understood under what type of conditions the testing is being performed such as automated versus manual, test setup, device being tested on, what other tools are used in the verification testing. It is not really about being tested in an office on a bench in R&D versus someone sitting remotely on a desk at home. Though that may have an impact depending on the device type, but if you are talking about a Software Only type of product the actual physical location is probably not important. What would be important in that case is the type of test environment like the computer spec being used, the browser, the application, automated testing, etc. Hope that helps.

Dear members,
What is the purpose of documenting software verification test location in the verification test results report?
My understanding is that the test location is provided as an indicator of the test environment. If the tester has all equipment and test environment to achieve the same output as they would while working in a testing lab, it is OK to perform software verification testing at home.
