  • 1.  Registration Monitoring Spreadsheet (System)

    Hello fellow RAPS members,

I need your help/input/feedback!!  Specifically, I've been tasked with updating our medical device registration spreadsheet by including a feature (column) that will give an alert/notification as to upcoming registration deadlines (i.e. China; registration expires in 6 months).  However, I am seeking ideas as to adding a column that will account for (include) the time required for completing the registration documents (as determined internally) in combination with the upcoming registration expiry.  For example, if China requires submission of registration documentation 6 months prior to expiry and we have determined it will take 3 months to complete registration documentation, then a feature/column on the registration spreadsheet should provide an alert feature 9 months prior to China registration expiry.

Does anyone have a template they would be willing to share that would easily incorporate the above mentioned?

Thank you in advance for the feedback provided.

    Hi Willis,

We have been very successful using conditional formatting within the expiration date column. Once you have your expiration date column set, you can apply conditional formatting with the rule, "Format only cells that contain""cell value" "less than"  X. Depending on how your date format is, you can set this value to equal 6 months or 8 months or any amount of months prior to the expiration date, and that will cause the cell to become highlighted when that condition is met.

With this system, as we see cells become highlighted, we add them to the planning que to renew that registration.

    Hope this helps!

    Jason,

Your feedback (shared information) seems to be a great solution in terms of an alert/notification feature  that will allow for the tabulation of upcoming registration expiry and time required to complete (submit) the necessary documentation; thereby,  staying ahead of the various registration expirations.

Your willingness to share is invaluable!!  I will let you know the results of the shared effort once implemented.

    Thank you very much.

    Whitney,

I will reach out Kayla Sanders and Eric Pickrell to share the information provided by Jason Ford.

    Julie,

    Refer to Jason's response.

    Dear RAPS Members,

I am following up to my original post requesting help/input in regards to ideas for implementing a feature within excel that will provide a notification/alert  for upcoming registration expirations.  As you will note from the responses, several individuals provided feedback/input.  In particular, Jason provided input that has now proven as a viable solution.  However, I had to further research how to implement.  As such, I am providing a link below that I used to successfully implement.  Moreover, I tested the alert/notification yesterday by setting a 30 day alert (Test Date 02/13/2019) and happy to report the excel automatically provided a colored alert within the column established.

Thank you everyone for your feedback.

    Regards,
