    Hi Everyone:

One of RAPS's key strategic priorities is to promote the value of the regulatory profession.  During the past three years, I have heard from numerous members and peers in other associations about the struggles that start-ups encounter navigating regulatory requirements.  I have also had several discussions with start-ups that echo those concerns.  Clearly articulating these challenges and developing solutions to fill these gaps is a strategic focus this year.

In the service of this objective, RAPS is launching a Start-up Initiative taskforce.  The goal of this taskforce is to develop education and initiatives to meet the discrete needs of the start-up community.  Outputs of this taskforce will be determined during the early phases of this group's work. This volunteer taskforce will help identify and prioritize needs in this area.

The taskforce will be comprised of members of RAPS with experience working with start-ups and/or incubators. RAPS intends to include representatives from start-ups and incubators to bring their perspectives to this work.

If service on this taskforce interests you, please fill out the application form here:

Members will be selected based on the length and breadth of their work with start-ups, with a desire to ensure diversity of perspectives and backgrounds within this group.

The taskforce will be comprised of between 10 and 12 individuals. The taskforce will meet for one hour each month from late April 2022 with work anticipated to conclude in March 2023. A chair and vice chair will be selected from this group, and will be asked to meet for an additional hour each month for coordination and alignment.

Those accepted for this taskforce qualify to claim recertification credits towards their RAC. Please consult the RAC recertification guide for further details.

Many thanks for your interest.  I am happy to answer any questions you may have about this initiative.

    All the best,

    Brian
