In Indonesia, the Goods and Services Procurement Policy Agency, is responsible for an e-Catalogue that allows the government to purchase a variety of needed products. This is an online Indonesia government language procurement platform. The e-Catalogue in Indonesia was initially set up to reduce corruption and increase transparency of prices. The Indonesian government recently changed the way the e-Catalogue works. In the past, the e-Catalogue was for all types of government product procurement. However, now there have been changes where different e-Catalogues have been set up for different industry sectors. Thus, medical devices are now a separate sector of the e-Catalogue overseen by the Indonesian MOH.

This e-Catalogue device system was open until April 1 of this year. This platform allows medical device manufacturers to list their products on the e-Catalogue. Only devices that are already registered in Indonesia can be listed. Besides device prices, the manufacturers can broadcast details of their devices, technical specifications, brochures, etc.  Much of the local hospital buying of devices occurs on this e-Catalogue. In addition, the Indonesian government also recently issued a new regulation with respect to importing devices and drugs. In short, it is very difficult for the government to import devices and drugs that are already made locally.
