    Hi everyone -

I am newer to the Regulatory world. I worked in marketing/product management for a Medical Device company for several  years before being asked to move to the Regulatory department. I have strong product knowledge, which helped in the transition. I just completed the RAPS Regulatory Affairs Medical Device Certificate program, which I found extremely interesting and helpful.

I want to continue my education, especially since my Bachelor's degree is in Public Relations. What path do you recommend? I want to continue growing in the Regulatory Affairs field in regards to Medical Devices. Do you recommend a Master's in Regulatory as my next step? A graduate certificate in regulatory? RAPS Certifications?

Looking for any and all insight, experience, guidance - thank you!

    Howdy Anon,

Welcome aboard - your background is a great one for transitioning into the field with great product knowledge! The ones you mentioned are certainly options - but before choosing a specific path, I would ask what is your current role and where would you like to be in say 5 years?

In field experience is very important and if you are only <2 years or less in the field, you might wish to gain more practical experience which may shape your choices.  RAPs certifications provide a base and demonstration of knowledge in an arena.
