    Hi RegEx,

This week (April 15- 20th) is RAPS Volunteer Appreciation Week!

This is a very special time designated to thank our volunteers. There are not enough words to describe how amazed and grateful I am by the dedication, thoughtfulness, and generosity of the more than 2500 individuals who have given themselves to the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society and the wider regulatory community.

From our local volunteers at RAPS Chapters and Local Networking Groups, our Subject Matter Experts who write articles and present at events and to our online discussion participants, you are driving the profession forward by sharing information, best practices and supporting colleagues.

RAPS Volunteers, you are the key to connecting us. Thank you!

    Lindsay

Thanks for kicking this off, Lindsay! Happy Volunteer Appreciation Week, RegEx members! As Lindsay said, this is a week celebrating you, our amazing volunteers. We would love to hear about some of your favorite volunteer memories, read some shout outs recognizing your fellow colleagues who volunteer, and to see some pictures of all the awesome RAPS swag you have collected over the years.

Not a volunteer yet?  Volunteering with RAPS is a great way for you to further your career and give you an edge throughout your career development. Take a moment to check out our volunteer page and current volunteer opportunities. Also, be sure to complete your volunteer profile.

Don't have time to volunteer now, feel free to put your volunteer status on hold by going to your volunteer profile and toggling the "Invite me to volunteer when opportunities match my expertise?" to No.

I look forward to reading your favorite memories and seeing your RAPS swag pictures! Thank you to our past, present and future volunteers! You are appreciated more than you know.

    Wes

Just wanted to say thank you to our Utah Chapter Chair, Robert Wolfarth, and all our leaders! Volunteering with RAPS has changed my world, creating friendships and connections for life! Even if you just have 1 hour per month to attend one of your local events - do it!

    Hello Everyone!

In the spirit of Theresa's post I wanted to thank all of the volunteers here locally in Colorado that have helped to get our Colorado LNG off the ground this past year. Bryan Ford and Kira Meyer from Clovis come to mind as does Mara Holinger who recently started her own consulting group.

Big thanks to the local companies who have offered to host and present future hopeful events as our LNG blossoms which includes TerumoBCT, Medtronic, ZimmerBiomet, Clovis Oncology, Tolmar, TUV, Research Collective, Halloran Consulting, CBR International and many others!

Extra appreiation to the Utah and San Francisco Chapters for their collaboration on future events in the west and to the Colorado Bioscience Association in highlighting RAPS into the future to our local community. Minnesota, Chicago, Boston, Florida Chapters and a few Fellows have all offered us advice as we have grown and are very happy to have had the opportunity to hear their about their experiences.

Huge, huge thanks to Linda Bowen in particular who has been a mentor to us as we've navigated RAPS and know has been an impact player for years for the NY/NJ and Philadelphia Chapters.

Above all, we would all be a little lost without the guidance of Wes, we really appreciate you!

Making things happen is not easy and is a group effort.

So much gratitude to all the volunteers!
    Lindsey

    Happy Volunteer Appreciation Week, RegEx!

As a chapter leader, I could not agree more with Lindsay when she says, "there are not enough words to describe how amazed and grateful I am by the dedication, thoughtfulness, and generosity" of our RAPS volunteer community. I would like to take a moment to recognize some volunteers from the Philadelphia Chapter, who have truly gone above and beyond:

    1. Dale Cooke- Dale, You are inspiring and amazing!
    2. Hema Patel – Hema, you taught us how to keep calm in tough situations!! Salute to you!
    3. Priya Vasa – Our Background Hero!! Keeps the show running from behind the curtains and ensures we all remain on track!
    4. New Members – Fredy Varela & Maria Chacon – We love your energy and drive for RAPS and we are here to support you !!

Fellow chapter leaders, are there some volunteers that you would like to recognize?

I also wanted to share my excitement for Convergence 2019, which is will be hosted in my very own city Philadelphia PA 21-24 September 2019. Be on the lookout for opportunities to volunteer at this one of kind event. And don't forget to take advantage of the early bird registration price!

I look forward to seeing you in Philadelphia in September! I will leave you a thought dear to my heart for all our wonderful Volunteers: "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, What are you doing for others?" ..Martin Luther King. Jr.

    Best Wishes,
    Suchi

A HUGE shoutout to the volunteers that have kept the NJ-NY RAPS Chapter a vibrant community for sharing best practices and hot topics. The chapter has been active since April 2003 and our event this evening marks our 16th anniversary. But its not easy to sustain a chapter for 16 years, it takes amazing volunteers. There have been so many that have been part of chapter leadership - Andrea, Jean, Chand, Doreen, Audrey, James, Alan, Kartik, Shreyas (and if I have forgotten you apologies). Specials thank to Irwin who has been there since day one and for the new volunteers we will be working with me to carry the chapter onwards.

Thank you to all the RegEx members, specifically the chapter leaders who have jumped in to acknowledge their chapter volunteers. I have loved reading your shout outs! Thank you @Lindsey Summers for your kind words. You are so right when you say " making things happen is not easy and is a group effort."

I wanted to take a moment to once again thank all RAPS volunteers, past, current, and future. Our initiatives rely heavily upon volunteers and we truly could not succeed without you all. Below are a a few of the many volunteers whose contributions and participation have made an impact on the regulatory profession and RAPS:

    • Kelly Winn, RAC – For developing such a strong agenda and recruiting outstanding speakers for this week's 2019 Southeastern Regional Regulatory Career Day for the Atlanta chapter.
    • Carol Cooper, RAC – Current RAPS Board member that helped launch the Chicago chapter more than 15 years ago.
    • Susana Waesch – Current chair of the REC (RAPS European Council) and a key contributor to RAPS' expanded presence in Europe.
    • Meredith Brown-Tuttle, RAC, FRAPS – Chair of RAPS' Editorial Advisory Committee (EAC), authored Regulatory Intelligence 101 and has written multiple chapters in Fundamentals of US Regulatory Affairs, 11th Edition.
    • Jocelyn Jennings, MS, RAC, –Another active member of RAPS' EAC and contributor to Fundamentals of US, EU and International Regulatory Affairs and regular contributor to RAPS publications.

And to all those that I left out, thanks again for your support and commitment to RAPS and the profession!

    Wes
