Advances in drugs, biologics, and medical devices have transformed health care over the last century. These advances are due to not only science and engineering, but also to regulation ensuring quality and consistency. By establishing rigorous standards and oversight, regulatory frameworks protect patients from harm, promote transparency in clinical trials, and foster public trust in new therapies and technologies. In drug development and biopharma, regulations guide every stage—from preclinical research to post-market surveillance—ensuring that innovations reach patients responsibly and effectively. Similarly, in the medical device sector, regulatory review ensures that products perform as intended and meet high safety benchmarks. Careers in Regulatory are rapidly evolving due to the need to keep pace with advances in science and technology as well as changes in policy and national healthcare priorities. This summit will explore what various regulatory-focused career paths entail and how regulatory experts help bring safe and efficacious products to market. The University of Colorado Master's Program in Biomedical Sciences & Biotechnology (BSBT) is a nationally-recognized Professional Science Master's Program that offers comprehensive training in the biomedical sciences and key related fields, such as regulations, intellectual property, innovation and entrepreneurship. The BSBT program is partnering with the Colorado Chapter of the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society (RAPS) to host a summit of regulatory professionals with a focus on regulatory career paths.
