    Karen Donnelly, MBA
    Team Lead, Scientific Staffing, FDA

    Karen began her federal government career in 2002 under the internship program (formerly known as the STEP/SCEP Program). Karen has over 20 years of experience in federal outreach and recruitment at the Center (Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER)) and Agency (FDA) level. Karen has a Diversity and Inclusion HR Certificate and she is a Certified Federal Job Search Trainer and Certified Federal Career Coach through The Resume Place, Inc. Karen has a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration.

    La’Nissa Brown Baker, PhD, DABT
    Associate Director for Scientific Staffing

    Dr. La’Nissa A. Brown-Baker serves as the Associate Director for Scientific Staffing at the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Office of the Commissioner, Office of Operations. In this role, she works closely with her staff to develop innovative outreach ideas, recruitment strategies, professional development, and retention efforts for all science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professionals at FDA. Additionally, she provides oversight for the Agency’s Pathways Programs which is aimed at recruiting students and recent graduates to FDA. Dr. Brown-Baker has over twenty-five years of biomedical science experience, ten years of which includes review of FDA-regulated products as a Pharmacologist (Pharmacology/Toxicology Reviewer) and is a Certified Toxicologist (DABT). In addition to being an experienced regulatory scientist and researcher, she has passion for STEM recruitment, outreach, and advocacy for historically underrepresented groups; and greater STEM diversity, equity, inclusion, and access.
