Signup Deadline: 02-Jan-2020
Starts: 03-Jan-2020
Ends: 04-Jan-2020

Description:

Charge:
To develop materials and models that will support and expand the RAPS competency framework and to increase its dissemination among regulatory affairs professionals. The Professional Development Committee will assist RAPS staff with all efforts related to the development, maintenance or dissemination of competency-related materials. Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing career paths/roadmaps for each competency level.
  • Updating the competency frameworks as needed
  • Identifying content that maps to those paths, roadmaps, and frameworks.
  • Know what other groups, both non-profit and for profit, in the regulatory affairs space have their own competency models.

Composition:
The committee will consist of twelve (12) members, including a Chair and Vice Chair, selected from a pool of RAPS member volunteers. To ensure representation of a variety of groups, committee members should come from a cross section of RAPS’ membership, including various product sectors and regions. All committee members must understand that they represent the entire regulatory community, not just their own sector, geography, or competency level. They must be willing to learn about the needs of the greater community and use that knowledge in their committee work.

Length of Service:
Committee members serve one (1) three-year term, with the option of going into committee leadership (Vice Chair and then Chair).Committee Chair and Vice Chair both serve one (1) two-year term in the respective roles.

Work Approach:
Committee members will be expected to participate in a one hour conference call, plus an additional 1-2 hours on competency-related work each month. The only additional expectation is attendance of an annual in-person committee meeting, if warranted.
