Description:

RAPS is seeking two (2) volunteers with medical device expertise to join the RAPS Education Committee. The Committee evaluates proposal submissions for RAPS education programs such as online workshops, asynchronous courses, and leadership content that are suited to the needs of our members and the profession. The committee's work should position RAPS as the preeminent provider of professional development and learning for the regulatory profession.

Responsibilities

Identify online workshop content that will include a mix of evergreen topics that will remain consistent year over year and hot topics. Review abstract submissions and, using a pre-selected rubric, select those that align with strategic topics and address the learning needs of RAPS customers. The committee will utilize the results from the competency framework model’s gap analysis to ensure the content meets the evolving needs of the profession. Evaluate proposals for new course content to ensure it is relevant and maintains high-quality standards. Evaluate proposals for inclusion in the RAPS Executive Development program for new leadership content.

Committee Role

  • Required attendance at the kickoff orientation meeting on 29 May 2025.
  • Participate in the submission review period, which takes place in July and August.
  • 15+ hours per committee member expected per year.
  • Participate in all scheduled committee calls. This committee meets every eight weeks.
  • Serves one (1) three-year term and will need to reapply annually to confirm their continued availability and alignment with the committee’s goals.  Members are eligible to reapply for an additional two-year term at the end of their three-year term.

Experience Required

  • Mid-to-senior level experience (8 + years of industry experience with demonstrated success in working with committees for RAPS or others).
  • Expertise in regulatory affairs on an international level
  • Must be a RAPS member
