Description:

To develop themes and tracks and identify topics and speakers for RAPS Euro Convergence (“Euro Convergence”) that are suited to the needs of members and the profession, and position Euro Convergence as the preeminent professional development, learning, and networking opportunity in Europe for the regulatory profession. Current RAPS members with previous volunteer experience with RAPS are preferred.  Applicants must live and work in Europe.  Evaluations will not only be based on the individual but on the overall needs of the committee to achieve diverse representation to deliver a well-rounded program.

SCOPE

The RAPS Euro Convergence Programme Committee will work with RAPS staff to do the following:

  • Identify content tracks for the full conference that will be a mix of evergreen topics that will remain consistent, year-over-year, and hot topics appropriate to the medical device, pharma,  IVD, and digital health.
  • Review all conference abstract submissions and, using a pre-selected rubric, select those that reflect excellence and innovation in regulatory work.
  • Create the conference agenda, based on the tracks and selected abstracts.
  • Assist RAPS staff in identifying topics of interest for pre-conference workshops and potential subject matter experts to develop content and lead the workshops.
  • Participate in monthly committee calls beginning in August 2025, and one, 2-day in-person program planning meeting 27-28 October in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
  • During program planning, members must be able to provide session development support and serve as committee liaison for up to five sessions. Including
    • : Approximately 20 hours per month during general program planning and abstract review period (August – December).
    • 20+ hours per month during peak program planning (December - May).
  • Travel to Euro Convergence and provide support as session moderator and/or committee representative.

COMPOSITION/SIZE

  • The committee will consist of twenty-three (23) members, all RAPS volunteers.
  • Two (2) Co-chairs
  • Nineteen (19) members, divided into Medical Devices, IVDs, Pharmaceuticals, and Digital Health
  • Two (2) advisors (EMA and Notified Body Representative)

LENGTH OF SERVICE

  • Committee members serve one (1) two-year with the option to renew for a singular additional two-year term. The 2-year term begins in August 2025 and includes Euro Convergence 2026 and 2027. The term ends after Euro Convergence 2027 is complete (including the committee feedback meeting).
  • Co-chairs each serve one (1), two-year term with the option to stay on the committee for a single year after their term as co-chair ends.

COMMITTEE MEMBER BENEFITS

  • Travel, hotel, and meals paid by RAPS focused for in-person committee review meeting in October 2025.
  • Complimentary full conference registration to Euro Convergence plus one ticket to the Euro Convergence Networking Party.

Travel and hotel coordination and costs for Euro Convergence are the responsibility of committee members.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

  • Five (5) openings
    • 3 Device track
    • 1 Pharmaceutical track
    • 1 IVD track

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Eight (8) or more years of industry experience
  • Demonstrated success in working with committees (RAPS and otherwise)
