RAPS is seeking qualified individuals to serve on the REC (RAPS European Council) for a 2025-2026 term. This is an opportunity to lead the premier global organization for regulatory professionals and to help shape the future of the regulatory profession in Europe. The REC guides RAPS’ efforts to advance and support the regulatory profession in Europe and serves as a resource for identifying needs and issues affecting the profession, including regulatory, cultural, political and other relevant perspectives.
This opportunity is open to all Europe-based voting members in good standing. Associate and student members are not eligible to apply.
REC Position Opening Requirements:
Member (one open position for a two-year term for 2025 - 2026)
To ensure the continued knowledge diversity on the REC, preference for this current opening will be given to regulatory professionals with pharma and/or biotech backgrounds
Timeline for Nomination Process
The general process and timeline for the 2024 nomination process are:
- Call for applications open to all European-based voting members: 08 Oct – 30 Oct
- Nominations Committee review and selection: November 2024
- Nominations Committee announces slate: December 2024
How to Submit a Nomination
Potential nominees must be full members in good standing and be permanently based in Europe. Self-nominations are encouraged. Nominees must complete and submit the following materials by 30 October 2024:

Criteria Used for the Selection of REC Candidates
- In reviewing candidates, the REC nominations committee will consider:
- Leadership and experience in the regulatory profession in Europe.
- Previous or current involvement with and service to RAPS.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to envision opportunities for the profession in Europe.
- Positive leadership attributes and the ability to work enthusiastically and collaboratively with other REC members and RAPS stakeholders.
- Commitment to actively participate in several meetings per year and to engage in regular communications.
- Ability to represent RAPS as an ambassador with regulatory affairs community stakeholders.
