Description:

RAPS is seeking two (2) volunteers, one with a medical device focus and one with a pharma focus, to join the RAPS Regulatory Intelligence Conference Committee.

This committee develops the themes and tracks and identifies topics and speakers for the RAPS Regulatory Intelligence (RI) Conference that are suited to the needs of members and the profession and positions the RAPS Conference Series and RI as the preeminent professional development, learning, and networking opportunity for the regulatory profession. Current RAPS members with previous volunteer experience with RAPS are preferred.  Evaluations will not only be based on the individual but on the overall needs of the committee to achieve diverse representation to deliver a well-rounded program.

Scope

The RAPS Regulatory Intelligence Conference Committee will work with RAPS staff to do the following:

  • Identify content tracks for the full conference that will be a mix of evergreen topics that will remain consistent, year-over-year, and hot topics appropriate to the medical device, pharma, and IVDR regulatory intelligence communities.
  • Review all conference abstract submissions and, using a pre-selected rubric, select those that reflect excellence and innovation in regulatory work and can be slotted into one of the defined tracks.
  • Create the conference agenda, based on the tracks and selected abstracts.
  • Assist RAPS staff in identifying topics of interest for pre-conference workshop(s) and potential subject matter experts to develop content and lead the workshops.
  • Provide feedback to RAPS staff on networking ideas and opportunities.
  • Participate in the kick-off meeting (30 May), the submission review period (July - August) and virtual program planning meetings beginning in September.
  • Participate in biweekly committee calls (September - March).
  • During program planning, must be able to provide session development support and serve as committee liaison for 2-3 sessions, Including:
    • Up to 10 hours per month during general program planning and abstract review period (July - December).
    • 10-20 hours per month during peak program planning (January - March).
  • Travel to the conference and provide support as session moderator and/or committee representative.

Length of Service

  • Committee members serve one (1) two-year term.

Committee Member Benefits

  • Complimentary full conference registration for the conference.
  • Travel and hotel coordination and costs are the responsibility of committee members. 

Volunteers Needed

  • One (1) opening with device focus
  • One (1) opening with pharma focus

Experience Required

  • Eight (8) or more years of industry experience
  • Demonstrated success in working with committees (RAPS or otherwise)
  • Expertise in regulatory intelligence on an international level
