RAPS Chapters serve as the “local face of RAPS,” providing a platform for regulatory professionals to connect with one another at the local level. This goal is achieved through a variety of methods, most commonly through the delivery of professional development and networking opportunities in chapter served regions.
The leader of the chapter, the Chapter Chair, is responsible for working with chapter volunteers and other RAPS stakeholders to develop and implement activities that serve the needs of regulatory professionals in the chapter’s service area, as outlined during the integrated annual planning process. Chapter Chairs are to serve two-year terms, with appointment of an additional term available upon written request.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Serves as the chapter’s primary contact with RAPS headquarters, regional advisory committee representatives and others in the network
- Prepares, with other team members, the annual plan of activities
- Oversees chapter operations generally to ensure plans are executed as designed
- Acts as the spokesperson for the chapter
- Identifies and mentors an incoming/vice chair to take over leadership at the end of his/her two-year term
