My company organizes QA&TEST, an international coference this month in Madrid (Spain) about safety and cybersecurity. This conference is focused on the integration of Safety and Cybersecurity aspects along the whole development life-cycle of systems and software products, from the conception of a system, through its development and testing. These aspects are fundamental when developing intelligent solutions but, normally, safety and cybersecurity are treated as separate disciplines and the approach of both concepts or requirements is also carried out separately, with different teams involved in different phases of the system development. The integration of both factors is not explored or considered sufficiently. In fact, the measures taken to mitigate the risks that affect the safety part may be contradictory to the security requirements and vice versa.

In the medical device field, I will be talking about the implementation of cybersecurity during the medical device software life cycle.
