I asked in another thread if anyone is interested in creating a new Toastmasters club to focus on regulatory topics. I collected 10 people interested in the idea in a week. I would like to start a new thread with the appropriate title as the previous one was focused on the RAPS convergence 2023 in Ontario.
Toastmasters has a great program to improve public speaking and leadership skills. It's one of the most affordable training (about $60/6 months) with access to amazing resources including Yoodli, an AI web-based self-practice platform.
To form a new club, we need to collect about 20 people. Please invite your contacts.
I'm interested in meeting virtually once or twice a month for 1-1.5 hours early PST to accommodate participants from Europe or after work time PST to accommodate participants from Asia but I'm open to everyone's ideas.
A typical Toastmasters meeting consists of
- 1 or 2 Prepared speeches, 5-7 minutes each
- Evaluations, 2-3 minutes each + round robin (additional 2-3 minutes)
- Table topic discussion (to practice impromptu speaking), 1-2 minutes each x 3-4 participants
- In addition, we may consider having Regulatory topics, ex. new guidance/approvals/tips etc.
Thank you for your interest and look forward to working with many of you to improve public speaking and leadership skills tailored for regulatory professionals.
Yoshiko
